Fat Tony & Co

Fat Tony & Co/Underbelly series is based on true Melbourne crime figures. Fat Tony & Co explores the life of Tony Mokbel and his illegal drug empire known as The Company. Mokbel controlled the amphetamines trade throughout the early 2000’s. Sachin Joab plays the role of Jessie Franco, an ex-footballer with a quick temper and a solid right hook. Franco also gained infamy as an associate of crime figure Lewis Mokbel. Franco quickly rose in ranks within the criminal world. Ultimately, he was caught and convicted for possessing three tonnes of cannabis valued at $140 million. Fat Tony & Co is written and produced by Peter Gawler, Jo Rooney, Andy Ryan, and directed by Peter Andrikidis. Screened on the Nine Network in 2014.
