Lion is the true story of 5 year old Saroo, an Indian boy who gets lost on the streets of Calcutta. Far from home he survives many challenges before being adopted by a couple in Australia. 25 years later he sets out to find his lost family. Sachin Joab plays the role of Bharat, a close friend of Saroo's. Bharat encourages Saroo to find his long-lost family by utilising the newly created Google Earth. It is this single step that ultimately leads to Saroo finally finding his biological mother. Lion is written by Saroo Brierley, Larry Buttrose and Luke Davies.
